At a time when COVID-19 becomes the latest crisis to threaten our communities, we’re asked to do everything we can to protect those who are at greater risk, including people who are older and have existing conditions.
We’re also asked to look out for our most vulnerable.
People with an intellectual disability are extremely vulnerable at this time.
Many services are closing across our community. Already isolated and marginalised, we need to make sure people are not left entirely alone to cope alone in conditions that could have a long-term impact on their mental health and wellbeing.
We’re doing everything we can to meet the new challenges that come at us daily, but we need your help.
- Fundraising income we rely on has been severely disrupted.
- The cancellation of fundraising events, reduced lottery ticket sales and closure of retail stores will result in a loss of income of up to $500,000.
- We face new costs at a time when our income is reduced as we respond to a situation that changes daily and are putting extra support in place for people with an intellectual disability.
Your gift today could help provide the funding people with an intellectual disability need—today, tomorrow, right through to the time when we can once more focus uniquely on their dreams, goals, and potential.
